Cool Finds

Every once and awhile we run across things we just have to share, a cool find.

A first aid kit that fits on a keychain, bandages with jokes printed on them, an organic bug spray that doubles as a night light. Whatever we can find.

If you have a cool find and would like to tell us about it please drop us a line. We would love to hear about it.

oxfam, first aid kit, world relief, charity Oxfam Unwrapped - First Aid Kit

The coolest of the cool. This first aid kit that you buy from Oxfam is donated to a village that has no doctor or medical services.

If you are not familiar with Oxfam it is an international organization looking for solutions to proverty, suffering and injustice worldwide. Instead of donating cash they allow you to buy equiptment, goods and livestock for villages in need.

Instead of buying socks each christmas now my family buys 'donated gifts' at Oxfam. I got my sister a flock of chickens donated in her name and she got me a goat! This year we're going for the oxen for grandma.

A portion of all sales on this website go to support Oxfam and the work they are doing. We love these guys. This is definitely a cool find.

Dr. Barker Veterinarian Dog Costume

Ok, we know it's technically not first aid, but it made us laugh and it does reference a vet...so we let it squeak by. Halloween is just around the corner and your pet has nothing to wear! You can't go wrong with Dr. Barker's Dog Costume.

I don't usually dress up my dog, he has enough problems as it is :) But one year we couldn't resist. I've never seen a more miserable dog.

GENEVA RED CROSS MUSEUM VIDEO
This is for all you world travelers out there. This is a link to a video that walks you through the Geneva Red Cross Museum. This is were it all started. The beginning of the Red Cross. They have even kept a catalog of the names of all the millions of prisoners from World War I and II. Are you a history buff? We have a page on the history of first aid and the Red Cross, you might find it interesting.

If you do happen to visit the museum in Geneva send us your photos and we'll post them online! Just contact us here.

Retro Medic Messenger Bags
We absolutely love this! What a great idea. They are a nice size at 12in. x 11in. not too big. Good for books and things and they come in 6 different colors. I'm partial to the black myself, makes me look thinner. Definitely a cool find.

The Bandage Tie
And you thought Dad had enough ties. Years ago I saw my dentist in one of these. He got it from a grateful root canal patient (I didn't know there was such a thing). Anyway the holidays are coming up and no holiday would be complete without at least one tie.

Medical Professional
Here we have yet another in a long line of dignified medical wear. With this tie you can get in touch with your inner "Patch Adams".

Bada$$ Bandages

If you have a kid in to extreme sports by now you know that they aren't going to wear a Winnie the Pooh bandage. For the extreme daredevil in your family you need the Bada$$ Bandage. Each metal tin contains two sizes of latex-free, vinyl, adhesive bandages (three 3-1/4") long ( ten 1-1/2") tall skulls with sterile gauze.

Pirate Bandages

Or has Johnny Depp awakened the inner pirate lurking in your family? The little swashbucklers won't mind sporting the latest in pirate first-aid.Each metal tin contains two sizes of latex-free, vinyl, adhesive bandages (three 3-1/4") long ( ten 1-1/2") tall skulls with sterile gauze.

First Aid Mug
Not just first aid mugs, these guys can customize any mug. We went with this one because well...we are kinda going with a theme here.
